Hello Team,
First I want to apologize for leaving early yesterday and not being able to wait and share my experience from last night and my "testimonies". But the funny part is that I can never finish testifying because on my way home, another reason to testify occurred again!
I introduced my friend Wande to several people, Wande is a good friend of mine who I met way back in college. Just like my other friends, I had been inviting her to Alpha as well as to Jesus House for the past several months now. She came to several Sunday services but not Alpha except for my Alpha celebration dinner when I graduated way back in June-ish.
At any rate, I was aware she attended another church, but I don't know what it was, something in me just always pushed me to invite her to Alpha and Jesus House every time I saw her. I have been staying at her place for quite some time now, and I remember this past Sunday, I invited her to come to church with me, she responded she was going to a friends church. Jokingly, I responded "You're confused". Later on that night, while we were just chit-chatting, she opened up to me as to how she felt. How she's been pretty much searching for her own church. She said all the churches she's been to (including her really close friends' church), its like if she misses a service she doesn't feel anything different. And nobody checks on her anyways. She pretty much could relate to a lot of the things Dami had mentioned during his testimony last night.
Another thing she mentioned was she wanted to be active in the church, she didn't just want to attend service on Sundays and that will be it. At any rate, what I got from what she was telling me was that she wanted a home church and she also wanted God to use her in that church. So I invited her to Alpha again for healing night. She's one of the ones I've invited to Alpha a thousand times but never show up. She said she'll come but she didn't really want to drive at night. So the best deal I could do in getting her to Alpha (cause I really felt like she needed it) was to offer to drive to and fro and bring her back or else she wouldn't have made it.
Let's just say it was not a mistake I did that. While we were at Alpha, since I know she complained about people not being warm and welcoming, I introduced her to several people and had Leticia invite her to her group.
To God be the glory on our way back, she went "Since you're not going to ask me about my experience slash testimony, I'll go ahead and tell you sha", I'll have to continue with her testimony when I see you all next Alpha if given the chance, cause this email is getting extra long. But to sum it all up, she told me she had never had that type of great experience ever in her life. She enjoyed it, she received her healing, a confirmation, the people were just so friendly and warm, she felt Pastor Chinyere was so down to earth, she kept re-asking if she was pastor or not aka is she the youth pastor, she definitely was coming back next week to have Bimbo teach her how to play the guitar, Funke was just on point with the prayer and that she was hitting the nail on the head with every single prayer she prayed, she felt a relief in her wrist where she had surgery, she loved the fact that she met lots of people her age that were hungry for God and in all what she got from it was that, "if these people are doing it, what is wrong with me? Why am I not hungry for God the way they are". This girl is always asleep by 10pm ish-11. But last night we talked till like 1am about her Alpha experience.
The Wande that came back with me after Alpha last night was definitely not the same Wande that walked into Alpha with me. Praise God.
Sorry for the long email, but I'm sure you all will rather I send an email than keeping you all till 1AM again next Tuesday ;)
